Nine of the fourteen actors are taller than the fighter they play. Four are shorter, and Jason Momoa is the only one whose listed height matches his character’s figure. How the Street Fighter Cast Trained for Their Roles:
Callina Liang changed her body more than anyone. Because Chun-Li is known for her kicking ability, Liang trained in taekwondo, Muay Thai, and wushu for around two hours a day. She told Empire that she ate twelve eggs a day while bulking and had to eat every two hours. By the end of the shoot, her thighs had grown 6.5 centimeters each. On social media, she put her daily intake at 4,000 calories.
Andrew Koji divided his preparation between muscle building and conditioning, Shotokan and Goju-ryu karate, and fight choreography. He also read Miyamoto Musashi’s The Book of Five Rings. He said his favorite thing to film was the Hadouken.
Noah Centineo’s twelve weeks of training ended each day in an ice bath with the rest of the cast. His preparation also included bleaching his hair and testing different wigs to match Ken’s appearance.
