aespa Members Height & Weight: Karina, Winter, Giselle, Ningning

In May 2021, the four members of aespa sat down on camera and shared their heights because the numbers going around online were wrong. Karina gave the most precise figure at 167.8 cm, while Giselle gave a range, and fans have argued about Winter’s number ever since.

aespa is an SM Entertainment group made up of two Korean members, one Japanese member raised in Tokyo, and one Chinese member from Harbin. They debuted on November 17, 2020, with “Black Mamba”. Its music video drew 21.4 million views in 24 hours, a record at the time for a K-pop group’s debut video. The concept came with digital avatar versions of each member, and the name itself combines “avatar”, “experience” and “aspect”.

Five years on, the group has achieved international recognition. Their Synk: Complæxity world tour opened at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome on August 7 and is playing nine US shows between September 18 and October 9.

Quick Facts:

aespa Members’ Height Chart:

The four members average 164.3 cm, about 5’4.7″. Only 6.8 cm separates Karina, the tallest member, from Ningning, the shortest. The figures below come from the members themselves, not fan-made profile pages.

Karina Height and Profile:

Karina is the tallest member of aespa and serves as the group’s leader.

Karina was born Yu Ji-min in Suwon, South Korea, and is also a member of SM’s supergroup Got the Beat, which debuted in 2022. Her solo track “Up” (2024) became her first top-ten hit on the Circle Digital Chart.

She has also built a substantial fashion and beauty profile, becoming a global ambassador for Prada and later working with Nike and Chanel Beauty. In May 2026, she attended the Met Gala wearing Prada.

Winter Height and Profile:

In aespa’s own 2021 video, Winter put herself at 165 cm (5’5″). That makes her the second-tallest member, though fans still argue about it.

Some fan profiles list Winter’s “real” height as 163 cm, based on side-by-side photo comparisons with other members. Photos taken in heels and at different angles can’t settle a 2 cm difference, so we use the figure Winter gave herself.

Winter was born Kim Min-jeong on January 1, 2001, in Busan. SM scouted her at a dance festival in 2016. She trained for four years and was the first aespa member SM revealed. Like Karina, she is in Got the Beat.

She co-wrote and co-composed her solo songs “Spark” (2024) and “Blue” (2025). In March 2025, she donated ₩100 million to the Korean Red Cross for wildfire relief, and in March 2026, UNICEF Korea inducted her into its Honors Club.

Giselle Height and Profile:

Giselle gave her height as 163 to 164 cm (about 5’4″), which makes her the third-tallest member.

Giselle was born Aeri Uchinaga in Seoul to a Korean mother and Japanese father. She holds Japanese citizenship and grew up in Tokyo.

That upbringing gave her fluency in English, Japanese, and Korean. Unlike the other members, her training period was relatively short. After multiple unsuccessful attempts, she passed an SM audition on her fourth try and trained for approximately 11 months before aespa debuted.

Ningning Height and Profile:

Ningning is the shortest and youngest member of aespa at 161 cm (5’3″).

Some fan records list her at 163 cm, but the most consistently cited figure from the members’ own 2021 video is 161 cm, so that number is used here.

Ningning was born in Harbin, China, and first attracted attention as a child through the Chinese singing program Let’s Sing Kids. SM Entertainment introduced her as part of its SM Rookies program in 2016, and she trained for four years before aespa’s debut.

aespa Members’ Ages in 2026:
