Isabelle Geffory, professionally known by the nickname Zaz is a French singer and songwriter born on May 1, 1980. Isabelle mostly mixes French variety, acoustic, jazz styles and soul in her songs. Music was her passion since her childhood for which she studied music theory including piano, violin, guitar and choral singing. In 2001, Zaz began her career as a singer in the blues band “Fifty Fingers”. Eventually, she became one of the four singers of Izar-Adatz, a variety band which consisted of sixteen people. Upcoming years brought more recognition and success to her and she released her debut album, Zaz in 2010. The album received critical acclaim and spawned a hit single Je Veux. Her next album, Recto Verso as well earned positive reviews and with her third album “Paris” Zaz won the 2015 Echo Award for best International female rock/pop artist. In addition to that, Geffroy being a philanthropist created the project Zazimut to develop and promote for a society more respectful of life in all its forms.
